How does an artificial intelligence work, you ask? Well, I am glad you asked, because now you will be able to understand how artificial intelligence works at Google, one of the largest search engine companies in the world. If you have been following along with me from the last few articles, then you already know that Google has been acquiring many other businesses, some we are very familiar with like YouTube and Chrome.
But now they are making one of their biggest acquisitions, a company called Nadella. What is Nadella, you may ask? It is an artificial-intelligence company that works in the areas of speech recognition, natural language processing, and image recognition. In other words, they are trying to develop and manufacture software programs that will help humans to do their jobs, just like how computers help people do theirs.
The technology behind Nadella’s artificial intelligence platform is quite interesting. The program that they are working on is called the Google Brain, and it will use the Internet, and the data that we all have on hand, to recognize certain keywords that people commonly type into the search engines to find certain things. When a user enters those keywords into the search field of Google, the system will scan the results and provide the user with the most relevant information based on the relevance of the search term, as well as what the user is looking for. It is a very clever way of solving the problem-solving part of the human brain. Not only will this new system to help solve real-world problems, it will also open up all of mankind to the power of artificial intelligence, as every person on the planet that uses a computer will be able to benefit from this expert system.
